 LE MIS CHAPTER 4


    This chapter was a long one but an interesting one as well. At the start of the chapter, it was talking about how the poor people are and how a priest said that to get into heaven you must give money to the poor. After that day there was a wealthy man who had never donated a penny to the poor but after hearing he could buy his way to heaven he finally decided to donate a little. The bishop saw this and was not too happy to see that the only reason this man donated to the same poor person every time just to buy his place in heaven. So later in the chapter, the bishop is called to be with a man who has been sentenced to die the next day. The bishop proceeds to stay with the man and comfort him telling him things to believe that the lord will be with him if he believes. The next day the bishop is still with the man and follows him everywhere till the time that the man must die. The man was not in fear for he felt that the Lord will be with him and he will be alright in the next life. Just before the man dies the bishop gives him one last prayer. After the execution, the bishop feels disgusted towards the guillotine and will no longer pass by the place of executions for he feels that man doesn`t own the power to end someone else's life only god. This shows how the bishop is a good guy sticking to the man who is going to die making him feel better and believe with god.

     The Right to Our Opinion       Arguing and giving up the right to our opinion to save our lives and others too might be what we must do sometimes to make things right. First of all, what is an opinion? Many people have opinions all the time whether its that they like a flavor of ice cream more than another or that they dislike a certain artist. Everyone had an opinion on different things they believe but some people can argue that their opinion is superior and that the other person is wrong. That is where it gets complicated because in their mind it is right but one could be more flawed than the other and by arguing you are trying to convince the person they are wrong. Now obviously the person with the correct evidence is correct, right? Well not exactly until the other person agreed if not it is still a stalemate. FINAL REFLECTION FOR WORLD LITERATURE 2020-2021

  The Final Reflection                                                                  Alright, where should I start off...           Well to begin with this WHOLE year has been very strange. Not only were schools closed but there is a deadly virus spreading. But lucky enough for us we have an online school "hooray", I was just expecting for everything to be on canvas but this class caught me a bit off guard with the whole Blogger thing. I've never had used a blogger so it took me a little to understand. It also was new to me that this class had very few due dates which felt nice at first but were a tiny curse in the future. Also, the teacher is very nice and chill Shout out to Dr.Preston.    What I found most meaningful in the experience we had is how everyone was so nice and that as a class we had a nice community going on especially the fourth period according to Dr.Preston but Shhhh.
