 What to photograph:

Stratigraphy – layers of Earth.  Find a place that, due to erosion, has exposed layers of deposition.


This photo was also taken during our field trip 5/30/26 at 10:27am

We can see clearly in this photo clear differences in the rock layers from bottom to top. The erosion that exposed these layers I think was from the waves, winds, and rain since this is right next to an ocean. The layers seem to be all quite similar but have small differences. The biggest difference is that very top layer as I think it is a sign of unconformity as its a whole different layer than those below. I think for the most part these are all the same material and compressed into rock. My guess is it took thousands of years to get to this point.
